About Us......

The Bromeliad Society of South Florida is based in Miami Florida. We are a society
that just celebrated our 50th Anniversary, established in 1959. Our society is dedicated
to collecting and cultivating tropical  bromeliads. Our membership includes plant
enthusiasts from around the country and the Caribbean Islands. Currently, this site
deals with  bromeliads we grow in the South Florida area. Our goal is to attract
people who are curious about bromeliads.

The South Florida area is awash in plant societies all vying for the time of the few
dedicated growers.  With more than 25 different plant societies here, many members
belong to multiple organizations.

We meet at Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden (10901 Old Cutler Road, Coral Gables,
Florida) on the First Tuesday of every month. (Visit our Meetings & Events page)
